Start with the right document.
Set out the service a buyer wants to order with enough detail for both approval and later invoice review. A service purchase order focuses on scope, service period and deliverable or milestone references rather than a shipping list. State whether a line represents hours, visits, a milestone or a fixed service unit, and use the agreed pricing basis consistently. Reference the detailed statement of work when the short description cannot capture the full scope. This template does not replace a service agreement or decide whether a deliverable has been accepted. Keep approval, completion review and the supplier’s invoice as distinct parts of the process.
