Start with the right document.
Prepare a contractor invoice that connects the bill to a job or work order. Separate labor, materials and other agreed charges into recognizable items so the customer can review them without guessing what a lump sum includes. Add the site reference, work-order number and service dates to distinguish this bill from earlier work. If a deposit, previous payment or other adjustment affects the amount, document it clearly and check that it is not counted twice. This general template is not a progress-payment application or a substitute for a contract-specific billing form. Confirm the required documentation with the customer before sending.
