Start with the right document.
Use one flexible invoice layout for a small business that sells products, services or a combination of both. An item or SKU reference makes recurring products easier to identify, while clear descriptions cover service work without forcing it into a product-only format. Check the customer billing details, currency and invoice number before entering quantities and rates. If an order reference exists, include it so the customer can match the invoice to their records. The template does not manage inventory, calculate business taxes or record payments automatically. Keep supporting sales records and review any adjustments before sending the completed bill.
