Built for this kind of work.
Use a semimonthly timesheet when work is submitted twice a month rather than every two weeks. One period may cover the first through the fifteenth and the next may run from the sixteenth to month end, but your organization may use different cutoffs. The layout provides up to sixteen dated entries so the longer half of a thirty-one-day month still fits. Write the exact period boundaries at the top and record only work inside them. Keep the start and end times visible even when your reviewer mainly needs a total. Confirm how a shift crossing a cutoff should be reported before submitting it.
What’s in the template
The blank form includes 16 entry rows and space to identify the person or team, reporting period and reviewer. Add rows in the editable files when your reporting period needs more detail.
How to use it
- Write the exact approved period boundaries.
- Enter valid work dates within that period.
- Record shift times, unpaid breaks and notes.
- Check cutoff-day entries before sharing the period total.
Keep the record useful
- A half-month is not always fifteen days.
- Do not assume the 1st–15th cutoff applies to every organization.
- Ask how to allocate shifts that cross the cutoff.
These are recordkeeping tools, not payroll or legal advice. Confirm your own break, overtime, approval and billing rules. Do not include patient details, children's personal information or other sensitive information in general work notes.
Using it in Google Sheets
Download the Excel file, upload it to Google Drive, then open it with Google Sheets. Check the imported formulas and time formats with a sample entry before relying on totals. For shared teams, set access deliberately and keep a clean master copy.
